About Us

Moms Food Shelf is a mobile food shelf that supports low to moderate income families who are in need of food. It was started by Lynette Harris, a single parent of two, at her son's elementary school in 2008.

MFS works with other non-profit organizations that do not have the food component available to offer to their families. Those families are referred to us so that they can be able to receive the food they need. MFS works with a host of vendors to supplies us with food to give to families. One of these vendors is Trader Joe's, a company who offers a lot of fantastic food that some families wouldn't ordinarily be able to afford.

The goal of Moms Food Shelf is to provide high quality foods to low and moderate income families. We believe in the community that we serve, and without the funds to keep MFS operating, those families might go without the food that they so desperately need. We here at Moms Food Shelf pray that you take the time and give what you can to keep not only MFS open and operating, but all small food shelf's, open so that we can continue to be a service and a voice to our communities.
